International Women's day Celebration

Durga Saptashati is a women’s rights non-profit organization in Delhi that has been celebrating International Women's Day since its establishment; to take a stand against patriarchy, gendered crimes, and to create an equal environment for all. We believe that significant changes begin by empowering women.

Why is International Women’s day celebrated?

March 8th every year is celebrated as International women’s day across the globe. It is a day to celebrate the achievements (social, economic, cultural and political) of women. It is also an occasion to call for gender equality and safety.

Our women’s day celebration function includes awareness campaigns around:

• menstrual health and hygiene
• cyberbullying
• self-defence tactics
• livelihood training
• importance of financial independence.

We celebrate our NGO’s women by organizing dance performances, fun competitions, and distributing refreshments.
